Missing girl’s body found close to the Ermelo airport

A case of murder is being investigated by Ermelo Police and no arrests have been made yet

Dimpho Sinenhlanhla Malevu (13) was found murdered on Tuesday, 30 July.

Her body was discovered by a passer-by at about 1pm in a veld close to the Ermelo airport on the Hendrina road.

A preliminary investigation suggested that the girl might have been strangled to death and possibly raped, however a post-mortem will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.

Dimpho’s mother reported her missing on 28 July.

She was last seen on that day between 5pm and 6pm in Gwebu Street in Wesselton where she was on her way to a shop.

A case of murder is being investigated by Ermelo Police and no arrests have been made yet.

The police urged anyone with information that can help with the investigation, to contact Detective Warrant Officer Mokoena at 017 819 2321 or 082 373 8389.
