Eskom Camden Management donates various items to better the lives of school children around Msukaligwa

The power utility giant extended its helping hand by handing over school uniforms, shoes and kitchen equipment to schools in the Msukaligwa district.

Eskom Camden Power Station’s management donated various items to two schools and a care centre in Msukaligwa Municipality recently.

The power utility partnered with Impecto Trading and Projects, a contractor at Camden, and extended a helping hand by donating school uniforms and shoes to 17 learners from Camden Combined School.

Ms Nonhlanhla Khumalo, school principal, thanked Eskom and Impecto for their kind gesture and said they must continue to assist where help is needed, especially in the community where it operates.

Mr Lunga Mhlongo, who represented Impecto’s management, encouraged the learners to focus on their studies and to ensure they participate in school activities as this will make them better citizens in the community.

Eskom also worked in partnership with Ditiro Tsaka Trading and Projects, another contractor, and handed over more school uniforms and shoes to 42 learners from Wesselton Primary school.

“We thank Eskom and Ditiro Tsaka for their contribution in making South Africa a better place for our children. You could not have come at a better time, as we are approaching the winter season and our learners are in desperate need of school uniforms,” said Ms Thandi Msibi, Wesselton Primary’s deputy principal.

Eskom concluded their campaign by donating educational toys, two gas stoves, carpets and steel cabinets to Khulisa Day Care Centre in KwaZanele, Breyten.

This time they partnered with Coal Milling Projects to bring happiness.

“We thank Eskom and Coal Milling Projects for their kind gesture and for lending a helping hand where it is needed. Khulisa has been struggling financially and God has finally heard our prayers,” Ms Nokuthula Mbuli, school principal, said.

The donations form part of Eskom’s Corporate Social Investment contribution and Back to School campaign.

The company is committed to ploughing back into the community and especially in the lives of young people as they are South Africa’s future leaders.

“We need to raise individuals who will change the current state of our country and with this small contribution, we hope we would have made a difference in the lives of the learners and played a role in providing basic needs to better the lives of our local community members,” Mr Peter Lukhele, Human Resources Manager

representing Camden Management said.
