Police request help with stock theft

A total of 38 sheep were stolen at the farm and 19 were recovered slaughtered in a field near the Slindile township in Lothair.

The Ermelo Police’s Stock Theft Unit (STU) requested anyone with information to come forward after sheep were stolen at the Smithfield Farm between the Ermelo and Lothair Roads recently.

A total of 38 sheep were stolen and 19 were recovered, slaughtered in a field near the Slindile township in Lothair.

No arrests have been made so far as the suspects fled the scene before police arrived.

The suspects however, left behind items that can help in the investigation.

A red bag, hat and striped sandals were found.

Sgt Xolile Zulu appealed to anyone who can help to contact the investigating officer at 074 853 2108 or alternatively call the police station at 017 819 5806.

A cash reward of R2 000 is on offer for anyone with valuable information.
