Township Youth Transformation assists Uzimvelo Agricultural School with sanitary pads and school uniforms

TYT and it sponsorship partners visited the school to motivate learners and provide necessary items for children in need.

Township Youth Transformation (TYT) working together with various stakeholders handed over 50 uniforms and sanitary towels to learners at Uzimvelo Agricultural School on Thursday, 8 February.

Ermelo Toyota, Ditiro Tsaka, PEP stores, Booyens Trans, Ndumiso Vilakazi, Gift of Love, the Department of Education and TYT visited the school to motivate learners and provide necessary items for children in need.

The organization was founded in 2014 when three young men visited township schools to help students prepare for their exams.

Realizing the different educational needs, they took it upon themselves to motivate the youth to stay in school, hone their talents,skills and give them tools to execute their goals.

Their main objectives is to encourage the youth to be passionate about education.

The organisation will have various programmes throughout the year, namely a career expo to showcase the different kind of opportunities waiting for the youth.

They also host winter classes, facilitated by former TYT beneficiaries who are at tertiary level, for grade 12 learners in subjects of Physical Science, Accounting and Mathematics.

They will a host an entrepreneurship schools competition where learners construct a business plan.

The winning team’s plan will be implemented with the help of sponsors.

TYT ends of the year gala dinner held anually to raise funds to help with registration fees for prospective students who are struggling financially.

The organization donated the school uniforms and sanitary pads to school girls in need, which will help improve their confidence, concentration and help them stay in school.
