Glory Patronella Mokoena lost her daughter on the eve of Reconciliation Day, 16 December, to gender-based violence.
The mother of two daughters has not reconciled herself with her daughter’s alleged murderer.
Nomcebo Mokoena was stabbed to death in her flat in Wesselton on that fateful night and her ex-boyfriend is alleged to have killed her.

“Nomcebo came home with paper bags filled with clothes for her son Luthando.
“She specifically said it was for Christmas day.”
Nomcebo called her son to fit the clothes, but he was reluctant and said he will do so the next day and little did he know it was the last time he would see his mother.
The ex-boyfriend arrived shortly thereafter to fetch Nomcebo.
“He walked in and greeted me and called for her.
I had no problem with the boy,” Ms Mokoena said.
Nomcebo went off into the night and was not found till the next day.
Ms Glory had a bad feeling in the pit of her stomach the next day, but went about her day, attending mass at church.
