Ermelo police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a cyclist (16) died after hitting the back wheel of a truck at Pet and Church Street intersection on Saturday, 20 January.
The truck driver was entering Ermelo from Hendrina when the accident occurred.

According to a witness, the cyclist was coming down Pet street when the truck driver stopped at the intersection.
The witness said the cyclist tried to avoid colliding with the truck but slipped and hit the back wheel of the trailer.
He died on the scene.
