One person died and five others sustained minor to moderate injuries in two separate accidents on the N2, Piet Retief road, in Ermelo last night, 21 January.
In the first accident, a vehicle and a truck collided.
Paramedics from ER24 arrived on the scene at about 7pm and found two people still seated in the vehicle.
A woman sustained moderate injuries with the driver of the vehicle declared dead on the scene after succumbing to his injuries.

Paramedics from ER24 arrived on the scene at about 8.30pm and found four people with minor injuries.
They transported them to Ermelo Provincial Hospital as well.
The exact details surrounding the cause of the accidents are not yet known and police are investigating.
