Camden Power Station donates to local schools

This is part of Eskom's programme of giving back to the community by making a difference in the life of learners.

Management of Camden Power Station made a donation to local schools last Thursday in their annual donation drive to assist schools in the Ermelo area.

This year saw Netherland Park Secondary School (NPSS) and Cebisa Secondary School as recipients.

A donation of R182 656,50 went to NPSS towards the purchase of seven interactive boards and R398 182,62 was donated to Cebisa to buy 50 computers including the software and installation at the school.

Speaking at the handover at NPSS, Acting Materials Management Manager Mr Ralph Griffiths, explained that this is part of Eskom’s programme of giving back to the community by making a difference in the life of learners.

“We had a shortage of computers that led to learners having to share computers, so this will assist greatly. We are grateful to Eskom, as this will improve the level of education and pass rate in our school”, said Cebisa principal, Mr M.D. Cindi.

NPSS headmaster, Ms L. Geoghegan, thanked Eskom for their charitable work, saying their goal as teachers is to give the best possible education to the children and the interactive boards assist in reaching this goal.
