The Executive Mayor of Msukaligwa Municipality, Mr M.S Nkosi, kick-started the community draft budget consultation programme for the 2017/2018 financial year at the Ella de Bruin Hall last Friday.
The aim of the programme is to consult the community on the Draft Annual Budget, to provide and promote democratic and accountable government for local communities and to encourage the involvement of the community and community organisations in municipal matters.
Draft consultations will be held throughout the week in different wards and Cllr Nkosi encouraged members of the community to participate in their ward consultation meetings, as this was just a draft and proposals were welcomed and would be adopted if applicable to the final budget.
