Candidates groomed for labour market

VTA is an accredited trade test preparation and trade test centre and also offers skills development courses in diesel mechanics, motor mechanics, automotive electronics and even on earth- moving equipment.

17 students of the Vocational Training Authority (VTA) were awarded diplomas last week after having successfully completed their MerSeta accredited one-year Level 2 course in autotronics and automotive repair and maintenance at the VTA Centre in Ermelo’s Havenga Aveue.

Eight women completed the autotronics course and nine men completed the automotive repair and maintenance course and are able to enter the automotive industry armed with the necessary basic skills to build further on their knowledge and competence.

Further advancement is available in Levels 3 and 4.

Further courses are offered in ICDL certification and advanced ICDL in computer essentials such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Access, online essentials, image editing, web page printing and IT Security.

The TETA and SETA approved courses are funded by SG Coal (Pty Ltd) and are offered free of charge to successful applicants.
