Herry Xaba (36) of Glenmore Section was arrested for violating a protection order against him last Friday.
The suspect violated conditions of his protection order on 13 December last year when he assaulted his 62-year-old victim.
The protection order prohibited Xaba from verbally harassing and physically assaulting the victim.
He was first arrested on 14 December last year, appeared in court on 27 February in the Mayflower Periodical Court where he was released on free bail and was scheduled to re-appear before court on 1 March this year, but he did not.
A warrant for his re-arrest was issued and the suspect re-appeared before court on Monday and his case was postponed to Wednesday for further investigation.
The suspect remains in police custody.
