Driver arrested for dagga in Chrissiesmeer

After searching the car, the police found a bag of dagga weighing 1,815 kg with an estimated street value of R5 000

Chrissiessmeer Police reacted to a tip-off and impounded a vehicle believed to be carrying dagga and arrested the driver and passenger last Monday.

After searching the car, the police found a bag of dagga weighing 1,815 kg with an estimated street value of R5 000.

The police arrested and charged the driver Vusi Hitler Shongwe (29) for possession of dagga.

He appeared in the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court last Tuesday and was granted bail of R1 000.

His case was postponed to 16 March in the Chrissiesmeer Periodical Court.
