A 36-year-old suspect was arrested by Mayflower Police last Friday on charges of raping his niece on 29 December last year.
The suspect, whose name is being withheld to protect the identity of the minor, was arrested after the victim informed her aunt of the incident.
The suspect appeared in the Mayflower Periodical Court on Monday and his case was postponed to Wednesday (22 February) for further investigation.
