IFP sends condolences on the passing of former Springbok Captain

We never understand these things, but we have to know that God has a plan for all of us

Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) has sent its condolences on the passing of South African rugby legend and former Springbok captain, Mr Joost van der Westhuizen after a long battle with motor neuron disease.

IFP’s National Spokesman on sports Mr Petros Sithole said the party sends its deepest condolences to the family and all the rugby loving people .

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Van der Westhuizen, friends and his former teammates at this very sad time,” said Mr Sithole.

He also said Joost was known as a fighter and someone that never stood back from a challenge, and he fought right up until the final moments.

“ We never understand these things, but we have to know that God has a plan for all of us, even though we do not always agree,” concluded Mr Sithole.
