A 15-year-old boy was taken to hospital after being wounded in a shooting incident at the Kakati section near Wesselton (Ermelo) on Sunday.
Police spokesman for Ermelo, Capt Carla Prinsloo said the incident occurred when the child’s father, who was armed, intervened in an argument between a couple.
The teenager stepped in when the argument escalated and attempted to break up the fight.
A shot was fired and the teenager was wounded in the hand and stomach.
Police are investigating the incident and have opened a case of attempted murder.
