Charles Vilane in manager’s chair

He invites everybody to visit him in his office to chat and have a cup of coffee and he really wants to make every visit to the hospital a pleasant experience for everyone.

The Highvelder was welcomed with a big smile by the new manager at Ermelo MediClinic, Mr Charles Vilane.

Mr Vilane grew up in White River where he completed his schooling.

In 1984 he began his nursing career at the Temba Nursing College.

He worked at the Sterkfontein Psychiatric Hospital for two years and from 1993 to 2000 he worked for several hospitals in the private industry.

In 2000 he left for the United Kingdom where he worked and studied.

He returned to South Africa in 2010 with several diplomas and a BA in Health Care Management from the University of Bedfordshire.

Mr Vilane is married to Sophia and they have three children.

He is working hard at creating a friendly environment.

New visiting hours have been implemented. Between 09:00 and 20:00 visitors are free to visit after reporting to the nursing station. However, no visitors will be allowed in the rest period between 13:00 and 15:00.

From 1 November a doctor will be available in the emergency centre from 08:00 to 17:00 and emergency doctors will be on call from 17:00 to 08:00.

Mr Vilane welcomes any feedback on each patient’s stay in the hospital in order to provide excellent service.
