Zwanes get house and jobs

Nonsikelelo said she was excited that they would soon be sleeping in a proper house like all other families in their neighborhood.

The Zwane family in Ext 5, Wesselton, Ermelo will soon have a home with proper living space as soon as construction work is done on their RDP house.

The house was abandoned a few years ago by the then contractor who only built the walls.

The family was forced to erect a shack next to house just to have a roof over their heads.

After learning of the situation, Chief Whip of Gert Sibande District Municipality, Mr Trevor Nkosi, approached the directors of Mageba Megalite Engineering (MME) for assistance and the company decided to get involved.

MME also offered to renovate, finish the structure, demolish the shack and replace it with a Wendy house, put fencing around the house and buy furniture.

The company directors went an extra mile and employed two of the three family members in positions of receptionist and a plumber, a gesture that was well received by the family.

Speaking to the Highvelder, the directors said they felt it would be better to offer the family members jobs rather than just to hand them money.

They said with employment, they would ensure that they were equipped with skills to help them in the future.

Nonsikelelo Zwane and his brother, Lucky Chirruque, told the Highvelder that their prayers had been answered.

Nonsikelelo said she was excited that they would soon be sleeping in a proper house like all other families in their neighborhood.

Lucky thanked the directors of MME for the help and wished them well in their business.
