Armed robbers strike again

The first suspect then pulled out a firearm and ordered staff members into the back of the premises where they were tied up with cable ties.

Breaking news:

Armed robbers struck again in Ermelo on Thursday morning, this time at the Internet Entertainment Lounge in the Engen Centre in Kerk Street.

This comes after the ‘exact’ store in the CBD was robbed for the third time a week ago.

Police spokesperson for Ermelo, Capt Carla Prinsloo said an unknown man entered the Internet Lounge soon after opening time and began playing a game on one of the electronic devices. He had apparently visited the shop previously and was familiar with the device.

Two other men then entered the shop and distracted staff members by asking to be shown how to operate one of the devices.

The first suspect then pulled out a firearm and ordered staff members into the back of the premises where the suspects tied them up with cable ties.

The three suspects then stole an amount of cash and cell phones of staff members and left on foot.

One of the staff members managed to break free and raise the alarm.

Staff members were traumatized but no one was injured in the incident.
