Call to renew firearm licenses

Carolina Police remind firearm owners of the renewal of firearm licenses in terms of section 24 of the Firearm Control Act 2000 (Act 60 of 2000).

Firearm owners are reminded to renew their licenses at least 90 days before the date of expiry. In cases where the validity of the license has already expired, the firearm must be surrendered to the nearest police station.

Owners with expired licenses who voluntarily surrender their firearms will not be prosecuted.
