Seventeen injured in taxi accident
Emergency personnel had their hands full, attending to the injured who were stabilised at the scene before being ferried to hospital.
The driver and 15 passengers of a taxi suffered injuries ranging from minor to serious when the vehicle they were travelling in collided head-on with a heavily laden articulated truck on Tuesday morning.
The driver of the truck was also slightly injured.
No fatalities were recorded by the time of going to print.
The accident occurred at about 06:00 just outside Ermelo at the junction of Mandela Drive and the N17 to Bethal.
Emergency personnel had their hands full, attending to the injured who were stabilised at the scene before being ferried to the nearby Provincial Hospital by ambulances from Mpumalanga Emergency Services, ER24 and Life Care Response.
The cause of the accident is being investigated.
