Attend World Hearing Day

3.2 million South Africans have a permanent disabling hearing loss

3 March is World Hearing Day, a World Health Organisation initiative, highlighting hearing loss as the most common chronic disability.

Hearing loss is associated with poor academic outcomes, unemployment, social isolation, depression and even dementia.

Currently more than 3.2 million South Africans have a permanent disabling hearing loss.
Early detection of a hearing problem is essential to mitigate the pervasive and devastating effects of a disabling hearing loss.

HearZA makes early detection of hearing loss possible in under two minutes.
Recent statistics suggest that 1 200 000 000 people have a hearing problem every year, while 328 million adults have permanent disabling hearing loss and 3.1 million of those are in South Africa.

Hear ZA in partnership with the University of Pretoria will launch on iOS and Android App Stores on World Hearing Day and every downloaded app will offer one free hearing test which only takes a minute.
