Municipality adopts new service model

"This service delivery coordinating model is aimed at improving communication among different stakeholders"

Msukaligwa Local Municipality recently launched a council of stakeholders led by Executive Mayor Cllr Sipho Bongwe.

This comes after the launch of a new service delivery coordinating model, Operation “VukaSisebente” launched on 8 December last year.

The council of stakeholders is an integration of ward councillors and government department leaders to work together at ward level to implement and accelerate service delivery in unicipality.

“This service delivery coordinating model is aimed at improving communication among different stakeholders and to increase efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery by establishing war rooms,”said Cllr Bongwe.

Mr Bongwe that the purpose of these war rooms is to increase community participation, serve as planning platforms and for community members to engage directly with government department leaders and raise their challenges about service delivery.

Open dialogue will be encouraged with communities residing in rural areas and improvement in their living conditions will be priority. Bongwe also encouraged communities to play their role in building and sustaining better living conditions for all.
