ANCYL joins back to school campaign

"Be careful of people claiming to be fighting for your rights yet they interrupt teaching and learning at schools"

The ANC Youth League (ANCYL) in the Gert Sibande Region took its back to school campaign to KwaDela Secondary School in Davel where sanitary towels and school shoes were donated.

Member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) Ndumiso Mokako delivered the key note address where he warned the learners on the dangers of drugs, alcohol and unprotected sex.

He also warned the learners against people posing as concerned citizens whom in turn violate the learners constitutional and democratic rights to education.

“Be careful of people claiming to be fighting for your rights yet they interrupt teaching and learning at schools and don’t allow anyone to stand between you and education as it is your constitutional and democratic right,” said Mokako.

The ANCYL together with the Top 20 organisation headed by Lerato Mnculwane, Raputla Shabangu and Kuhle Mpofu donated pairs of shoes to needy learners.

KwaDela Secondary achieved a 71% pass rate in their 2015 grade 12 results.
