Three people were lucky to escape serious injury in the second of two head-on collisions that occurred on the N17 outside Ermelo last Tuesday.
The second accident, between a bakkie and a light sedan, occurred at about 21:00 to the north of the Gert Sibande District Municipality building.
It followed the horror smash that claimed the life of 74-year-old Mr Paul Whysall on the same road earlier in the day when his car hit a truck.
Emergency personnel treated and stabilised the injured on the scene and transported them to hospital.
A case of reckless and negligent driving was opened.
