Vandals smash car windows

"Nothing was stolen out of the vehicles. It’s just sheer destruction."

The windows of two vehicles belonging to female employees of Absa Bank were smashed on Friday in what appears to be a case of wanton vandalism.

The damage was discovered at lunchtime on Friday when the employees returned to their vehicles that were parked in a basement parking garage in Joubert Street .

All four side windows of one of the vehicles were smashed as well as the left front passenger-side window of another vehicle.

“We have no idea why anybody would want to do this to us. Nothing was stolen out of the vehicles. It’s just sheer destruction,” said one of the vehicle owners.

Police were summoned and a case of malicious damage to property was opened.
