Video – Sewage flows unabated
Condoms, sanitary pads and disposable diapers litter the street and the sewage flows into a nearby stream which feeds the Vaal River system.
A recurring sewage spill from an inspection cover in Wesselton’s Jiyane Street has angered residents who once again are having to put up with flooded properties and an unbearable stench.
Residents say spills at this site occur regularly.
According to a concerned resident, Mr David Fakude, this latest spill has continued unabated for the past four weeks.
“Calls for the municipality to assist have been futile,” he said.
