BREAKING NEWS – Burglars meet their match

The burglar's getaway vehicle skidded out of control, slammed into two tree stumps and overturned while rounding a potholed bend in the road.

Two burglars were apprehended after their getaway car left the road and overturned in Ermelo this morning (Wednesday). A third suspect who earlier fled the scene of the burglary is still at large.

According to information gathered at the scene, Acsu security were alerted to a house robbery in progress at about 11:30.

Reaction squad members rushed to the scene and saw three suspects getting into a blue Toyota Etios. One on the suspects fled on foot and the other two sped away in the vehicle. The Acsu members requested backup and chased after the vehicle.

Other Acsu patrol members who were in the vicinity responded and  joined the chase.

After about two kilometres the burglars getaway vehicle skidded out of control, slammed into two tree stumps and overturned while rounding a potholed bend in the road.

The two occupants were uninjured and immediately apprehended by the Acsu members.

Three flat screen Tv’s, clothing and various other items were found in the vehicle.

The burglars were handed over to the police.
