Gert Sibande District Municipality set aside more than R4.5 million to address potholes problems in its local municipalities.
The potholes project was launched in Msukaligwa and Lekwa Local Municipalities last Friday.
4480 m2 (square meters) of surface would be sealed in Msukaligwa in priority streets identified by the local municipality.
Velocity company committed to hiring eight local people and would be transferring skills to them during the duration of the project.
A local subcontractor has also been appointed and the majority of the material will be purchased locally.
