Mpumalanga MEC for community Safety, Security and Liaison Vusi Shongwe will today take 60 learners from Bhekiswato Secondary School on a prison visit.
MEC Shongwe says the programme is an effort to enhance crime prevention in the province and has a big impact in crime prevention as the youth is sometimes used to commit crimes.
This is an annual programme in his department together with the Department of Education to educate the youth about dangers of crime.
The learners will also experience prison life and be afforded an opportunity to interact with inmates who will motivate them to stay away from crime.
