Tip off ensures thief doesn’t cut it

Police act on tip off.

Ermelo police received information on Saturday that a man in Thusi Village was attempting to sell a number of petrol-driven brush cutters to unsuspecting buyers.

Upon arriving at the scene, police questioned the suspect and learned that the goods had earlier been stolen from a residence in Fourie Street.

The suspect was subsequently arrested and charged with housebreaking and theft.

He appeared in the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

The five brush cutters worth about R30 000 were returned to the owner.
