Road safety taken to schools

Mpumalanga MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Vusi Shongwe said safety issues must also be taken to schools and be part of the curriculum.

Mpumalanga MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Vusi Shongwe said safety issues must also be taken to schools and be part of the curriculum.
He said this while visiting Masizakhe Secondary School in KwaZanele, Breyten during the launch of a computerised learners licence testing mobile unit last Monday.
According to Shongwe, teachers must become road safety ambassadors by teaching their learners the importance of road safety. Shongwe further said if road safety was instilled to people at a young age, the country would see fewer crashes and fatalities in future.
The MEC also handed over K53 books to eight secondary schools.
