Mayflower Police arrested five suspects after a businessman was robbed of R1000 cash and a cellphone worth R800 at gun point in Joe Slovo section, DunDonald last Thursday.
The suspects fled in a vehicle that was later spotted and stopped by Police after the businessman had reported the robbery. The occupants were all charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm, possession of live ammunition, possession of stolen property and business robbery.
France Thabiso Sithole (35), Mzwandile Sithole (40), Mphiliseni Mtshali (32), Sphamandla Sibiya (24) and Wonder Dube (33) appeared in the Mayflower Periodical Court on Monday.
Sithole and Sibiya were officially charged for the business robbery and were denied bail. The other three were released on R1 000 bail each.
