House burgled in while occupants sleep

Burglars entered the home of an Ermelo family in the early hours on Wednesday morning while the couple and their young children were asleep. A motor cycle, two mountain bikes and a TV were stolen.

The home of an Ermelo couple was burgled in the early hours of Wednesday morning while they and their young children were asleep.

The thieves gained entry to the property by lifting a motor gate off it’s rail and forcibly removing burglar bars from a window.

A motorcycle, two expensive mountain bikes, a flat screen TV and various other electronic items were stolen. The family’s dog was also poisoned.

According to Ms Jolene Herbst she and her husband Hennie woke up at their usual time and found that the TV had been removed from it’s wall mounting. They then discovered that the brand new motor cycle and bicycles that were kept in the adjoining family play room were missing. The thieves left a smaller kiddies motorcycle behind.

The public is asked to look out for the stolen items. The motorcycle is a 2015 model Honda 150cc off road and is black and white in colour with red flashes on the side covers. The bicycles are a blue and black ladies Titan Calypso 650B Sport and a gents model of the same make but green in colour. The colours are very distinctive.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ermelo SAPS at 017 819 2373 or 082 373 8389 stating case number CAS 227/4/2015
