Centre makes history

Ermelo Children of the Dawn Centre writes history

Ermelo Children of the Dawn Centre made history last week when they became the second centre on the African continent to have a front ball club.

The first centre is in Qwaqwa.

Front ball is a relatively new sport in South Africa, played with a ball hit against a wall by hand.

In Ermelo, a team of 16 members was formed last week during a two day coaching clinic by two of the best players in the world, Yoan from France and Kathleen, who plays for England.

The team received coaching as well as information on the rules of the game. At the end of the training, the kids received a full playing kit from the Front ball Team.

Ermelo centre manager Mr Tafayile Zulu was overjoyed with the new sport.

“I hope it will attract interest and receive attention from other community members,” he said.
