Employees of Albert Luthuli Local Municipality in Carolina participated in their monthly sports day at the Carolina Rugby fields yesterday.
The departmental competition saw them competing in various indigenous games such as umrabaraba, inqabethu”rope skipping”, amathini “tin games” and stick fighting.
Sports Promotional Officer from the Department of Sports, Culture and Recreation, in the regional office based in Albert Luthuli Mr Donald Ramaano informed the Highvelder that the intention with these games is to promote and encourage healthy living and to encourage the bond among employees.
“We play these games once every month and municipal employees always look forward to these games,” said Mr Ramaano
