Community engage in dialogue

The community of kwaZanele in Breyten participated in an Intergenerational dialogue yesterday at kwaZanele community hall.

The purpose of the dialogue was to engage the young and old on issues affecting the community.

Teenage pregnancy, alcohol and substance abuse as well as HIV&AIDS topics were discussed and the community participated in coming up with solutions to these problems.

Officials from the Department of Social Development, Love Life, SAPS as well as Ward AIDS Committee attended the event.

Some of the solutions from the community include parents paying close attention to their children behaviour; support them in all constructive activities and to have an open communication approach with their children.

Ms Nonsikelelo Nhleko living with HIV virus for 11 years shared her story which the community found touching.
