The Ermelo MOTHS (Memorable Order of Tin Hats) wishes to remind the public of the annual Remembrance Day service and parade that will take place at 11:00 on Sunday 16 November at the Monte Sole bunker in Jan van Riebeeck Street.
A call is being made to family and friends who wish to lay wreaths commemorating the loss of loved ones who were members of armed forces and SA Police Services to contact Fritz Olmesdahl at 081 406 8946 or Gerrie Oosthuizen at 082 411 8821 to make arrangements.
At this year’s ceremony a bugle player of the SA Police orchestra will sound the “Last Post” during the flag-raising and -lowering ceremony.
All ex-paratroopers, better known as “parabats” are invited to attend the ceremony as it is planned to launch the Highveld Paratrooper Canopy, an organisation that aims to re-unite ex-paratroopers living in the Eastern Highveld area.
