Home-based caregivers receive training

According to the facilitators, a healthy lifestyle begins at home

Home-based care givers from Wesselton recently underwent training on the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) organised by the Department of Health.
The purpose of the training was to give new information to help care givers improve their work and be more competent in communities they work in.
Some of the IMCI objectives include improving home care for sick, injured and abused children.
According to the facilitators, a healthy lifestyle begins at home and home-based caregivers play a major role in this regard, as they assist in promoting and facilitating a sustainable healthy behaviour in families and communities.
The IMCI strives to reduce morbidity and mortality of children under five years and improve health care practices in homes and community.
