“Taxi” bids farewell

“I wish this municipality a bright future and I will miss them,”

A long-serving official at Msukaligwa Municipality has called it a day.

Mr Thomas Mbhuti “Taxi” Ncongwane has retired after 26 years of service in the municipality.

Mr Ncongwane joined the then Wesselton Town Council on 1 February 1988 as a salaries accountant. In May 1991 he was promoted to personnel officer where he served for four years before transferring to Ermelo Town Council during the amalgamation of Wesselton and Ermelo Town Council.

In December 2002, Mr Ncongwane was promoted to Assistant Director Human Resources (HR) and after six years he took up another directorship position as an Assistant Director for Organisational Development. Mr Ncongwane achieved a Diploma in Personnel Management in 2001, in 2007 he obtained a certificate in the Assessment of learners and in 2011 he completed another qualification in conduct performance management in a South African Municipal Environment.

Mr Ncongwane attributes his achievements to a number of people, including his colleagues and family, especially his wife. who stood by him through difficult times.

“I wish this municipality a bright future and I will miss them,” said Mr Ncongwane.
