Spectators were left asking for more at the Gert Sibande District Municipality (GSDM) Traditional Music and Dance Festival last Saturday at the municipal offices.
The festival featured more than 40 talented groups representing the seven local municipalities in the district.
The GSDM Executive Mayor, Cllr Mishack Nhlabathi, was among those who could not hide their excitement. On several occasions he found himself joining the performances on stage.
“When I look at the groups present today, they represent the true diversity of our country and different races are present. This is an indication of government’s commitment in promoting all cultures in our district and an inclusive society,” said Cllr Nhlabathi.
The municipality also handed all participants tokens of appreciation and pledged to support them whether they are performing at provincial, national and even international level.
