Highvelder’s cupcake sales for kids with cancer a big success

Some residents and the paper's staff put on their aprons, baked some cupcakes and donated them.

ERMELO – The Highvelder staff sold about 850 cupcakes, of which all proceeds will go towards Cupcakes of Hope.

Some residents and the paper’s staff put on their aprons, baked some cupcakes and donated them.

Four tables laden with colourful cupcakes welcomed residents to the paper’s offices on March 3.

Highvelder wishes to thank Ermelo SPAR, members of Tuiskoop, Madness, Mayrich of Cake Fantasy, as well as every individual who baked and donated cupcakes for this initiative.

Thanks must also go to every person who bought some cupcakes, as they made a difference in the life of a young child suffering from cancer.

Cupcakes of Hope is a non-profit company that aims to raise awareness surrounding childhood cancer and to raise funds for families in need of medical assistance.

September marks Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and Highvelder will again host a cupcake day for kids with cancer.

The paper would like to invite all residents and businesses to circle the month on their calendars and be on the lookout for more information about the event.
