Police in Ermelo held a day of sport and team building at the AJ Swanepoel Stadium last Wednesday.
Crime prevention members sacrificed their off-duty time to attend the day’s activities and challenged the administration department members in events such as soccer, netball, tug-of-war and foot races.
The soccer match was an evenly contested affair with the crime prevention side emerging as eventual winners, beating the administration side by 3 – 2.
The tables were turned in the netball match when the administration side beat the crime prevention ladies by 14 – 9.
In the tug-of-war, the team headed by the Station Commissioner, Col Winnie Mavuso, triumphed over the Sector Policing side of W/O CS Khumalo.
The relay race was won by the Detective Unit.
Egg-and-spoon races added to the day’s fun and games.
