The body of a young woman was found on 3 August near Kwamabuza farm on the Breyten Road.
A resident who was collecting wood in the veld, found her body under a pile of branches and informed the Ermelo Police.
Ermelo Provincial Ambulance Services received a call at about 16.50pm for declaration of death.
According to Mr Christo Botha, from the ambulance services, the exact time of death could not yet been determined.
Ermelo Police, forensic services and Ermelo Provincial Ambulance Services were on the scene.
