Langa family living in extreme conditions in Wesselton

To date, Ms Ntabeleng Mogale and concerned individuals have raised R30 000 and need an additional R40 000 to complete the Langa’s house.

The Langa family in Wesselton is living in extreme poverty.

The family of eight headed by Ms Lillian Langa, lives in a debilitated shack that has seen many seasons.

With the rainy season, the family is in a bind as to how they can fix their house.

With no source of income, the fixing of the house will have to wait.

Ms Langa’s children range from two to 22 years old, with most of the children having no identity books or birth certificates.

However, the Langa family’s fortune has changed for the better after a community member highlighted the plight of the family and certain individuals have stepped up to lend a helping hand.

The Department of Home Affairs (DoH) got two of the seven children birth certificates, resulting in the family now having a source of income from social grants.

The DoH is also trying to secure documentation for all the other children and Ms Langa.

The Department of Social Development (DSD) has secured the family land in Wesselton Ext 7 and a construction company is in the planning stages of constructing a house on the land.

However, with limited funds, the project cannot be completed.

The visionary behind the intervention in the Langa family, Ms Nthabeleng Mogale, has opened an account at Cashbuild to assist in the construction of the house.

To date, Ms Mogale and concerned individuals, some even as far as China, through social media, have raised R30 000.

It will take R70 000 to complete the house and an additional R40 000 is needed to get the Langa family a stable home.

Ms Mogale and Blessed Beyond Measure (BBM) are planning a BBM picnic in Pretoria, where money will be raised when BBM branded clothes are bought.

Anyone wanting to donate to the completion of the project, is urged to donate to the Cashbuild account using the code 7539.

Other items, including clothes and food, are also welcome and can be delivered at the BBM store or contact Ms Mogale at 082 7990 734.
