Security officers held at gunpoint in Department of Education’s offices

An unknown man came into the security house and held a firearm to their head and ordered them to lay down on the floor.

Ermelo Police are investigating an armed robbery after a man robbed security officers on Saturday, 20 October at about 10.30pm.

The incident took place at the office of the Department of Education in De Clerq Street.

The 38-year-old complainant and her colleagues were on duty as security officers.

“An unknown man came into the guard house and held a firearm to their heads and ordered them to lay down on the floor.” said Ermelo police spokesperson, Capt Carla Prinsloo.

According to Capt Prinsloo, the man searched the women and took their cell phones and fled the scene.
