The purpose of the gathering was to conclude the last module of training where the young people discovered who they are, but most importantly, how they can begin connecting with each other and explore ways and possibilities of supporting each with their community development ventures.

The modules introduced the youth to a tool called “Making Local Government Work” which teaches them how they can collaborate with the local government and what processes they can follow to hold the government accountable when it comes to the Integrated Development Plan (IDP).

More than 20 “Change Drivers” completed both modules and graduated.

They each received a certificate in Leadership and Public Innovation.

Activate Change is an organisation founded in 2012 and is a growing network of young leaders who are building an alternative future through small actions.

Facilitators of the programme use different innovative tools that connect, inspire, provoke and influence the culture of transforming the country by addressing issues the youth face on a daily basis.

More than 2 500 activators have been produced across all nine provinces, since the beginning of the organisation.
