The Carolina Regional Court sentenced a 32-year old man to life in prison on 22 February.
Vusi Piet Mpila was charged with robbery, kidnapping and rape after crimes that took place in Carolina in 2015 and 2016.
The culprit was sentenced to 35 years for robbery and kidnapping and a life sentence for the rape.

The sentences will run concurrently.
Carolina police thanked the investigation officer of Elukwatini Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS), Det-Sgt Linda Solomon Zwane, for the tireless work.
