SAB Soccer League heats up with goals galore at the weekend

The SAB Soccer League resumed at the AJ Swanepoel Stadium last Sunday with teams from the district renewing their rivalries on the field.

The SAB Soccer League resumed at the AJ Swanepoel Stadium last Sunday with teams from the district renewing their rivalries on the field.

Three teams from Ermelo had home-ground advantage with City Gunners FC taking on Shooters FC in the morning match, Ermelo United playing Breyten Home Sweepers FC at midday and VOC FC taking on Comet Riders FC in the afternoon match.

The home teams could not make it count since VOC FC was the only winning side, putting four goals past the Comet Riders goalkeeper.

Ermelo United was on the losing side as they succumbed to a 4 – 3 loss to the Breyten team.

City Gunners shared the spoils with Shooters FC after drawing the match with one goal per side.

The log standings after the weekend stay the same with Manzana FC still hogging the number one spot.

PR Barcelona follows closely behind while VOC FC rounds up the top three.

The bottom of the table sees Armburg FC occupying 16th place while Stone Breakers is on their tails on the 17th spot.

Shooters FC occupies the last place.

The next round of matches will take place around the district this weekend.
