Strapped for cash? Top tips to saving on fuel costs

Because everyone can afford to save a bit of cash.

WE ALL have those moments during the month when we really don’t know how we’re going to make it through, and somehow of course we do.

However, when it comes to your finances and the way you manage them, a few tips on saving on your monthly fuel costs could come in handy.

According to the South African Automobile Association, there are a variety of ways you can save on fuel expenses.

The top tip which many of us fail to follow is actually the easiest. Ensure that your tyre pressure is always correct and that it is not too low or too high.

Having your car serviced regularly instead of testing its limits can also be very beneficial to reducing fuel costs.

Reducing the amount of drag on your vehicle is also a super good idea. You can do this by keeping windows closed – especially the sunroof – and removing any unnecessary roof racks.

If you are not dying of the heat and don’t have a weird condition which required you to keep the aircon on most of the time, turn it off.

Ease off the accelerator, who knows, aside of it saving you on fuel, it might just save your life.

So unless you are a millionaire, follow these easy steps and you’ll certainly save money instead of it going from one hand to the next.
