SASSA confirm SMS notification for funeral policy deductions is legit

SASSA would like to confirm an SMS notification has been sent by the agency from May 2017 to all beneficiaries, targeting those who are affected by funeral policy deductions.
The actual SASSA message reads as follows:
SASSA will be communicating with beneficiaries affected by funeral policy deductions on their grants via SMS and MMS soon. Call 0800601011 for enquiries.
Beneficiaries must note that this is not a scam, but are advised to take the SMS seriously.
All those who have funeral policy deductions must visit local SASSA offices during office hours to declare their funeral policy and complete a mandate form.
Beneficiaries must come with ID books and a copy of the signed policy contract.
Recipients must be aware that the agency will stop all funeral policy deductions that are not declared officially soon.
